Hope for Children in Vietnam (HCV)
is a voluntary group of Vietnamese Americans and
other Americans concerned about the future of
poor young children in Vietnam.
Founded in 2002 as US Charity, HCV and its
volunteers in the US and Vietnam raise private
funds to purchase educational supplies, medical
items, and food from local Vietnamese markets.
We personally deliver these basic supplies to
small Buddhist and Catholic-run orphanages and
schools in Saigon and the countryside.
In the past five years, we have made deliveries
to over 50 homes, reached more than 3,000
impoverished children, and funded essential
projects (school roof, girls' sleeping room,
clean kitchen, school desks, tuitions, bicycles,
water pumps) though modest grants.
HCV gives 98% of each dollar contributed
directly to the needy youngsters and their
loving caretakers. We depend on, and are deeply
grateful for, generous donations of time,
expertise, physical labor, and funds from
committed volunteers.
